HOW TO GET THE MOST FROM YOUR SESSION?
Whether you’re a musician, an artist, or looking to capture your unique style, preparing for your shoot can help ensure we achieve the best possible results. Here’s everything you need to know to make the most of your time in front of the camera:
1. Wardrobe & Accessories
Bring Variety. To create a visually engaging set of images and videos, it’s essential to have multiple outfits and accessories. If you’re a musician, bring pieces that reflect different moods or aesthetics. Changing outfits can add dimension to your content and gives us the freedom to create a range of looks for you.
Stay True to Your Brand. Choose clothing that resonates with your style and brand. Think of what you want to convey to your audience and bring clothing options that help tell your story. Avoid wearing heavily branded clothing (unless it’s part of your image) and go for patterns or textures that add visual interest without being too distracting.
2. Preparing Your Audio (for Musicians)
Hook-Only Version. To streamline our shoot, have a version of your song that includes only the audio “hook” ready to go. This will allow us to quickly use the perfect sound clip for each shot without needing to search through the full track. This preparation can save time and help us stay focused on capturing as many unique, interesting visuals as possible.
3. Staying Focused and Efficient
Clip Goals. For musicians or promotional shoots, our aim is to achieve around 20 unique clips within a three-hour shoot window. This pace allows us to capture a range of visuals for you to post. While we keep the environment relaxed and enjoyable, keeping an eye on our goals will ensure we get plenty of content for you to work with.
Minimise Distractions. To maximise our time together, try to minimise outside distractions. If you’re bringing people along, ensure they’re supportive of the shoot goals, or consider leaving them at home unless they’re directly involved.
4. Personal Preparation
Sleep and Hydrate. A great shoot often starts the night before. Aim for a good night’s sleep and drink plenty of water to ensure you look and feel your best. Rest and hydration will give your skin a healthy glow and help you feel energized throughout the shoot.
Practice & Visualisation. If you have specific poses, expressions, or movements in mind, practicing in advance can be incredibly helpful. Musicians, think about how you’ll interact with your instrument or sing to the camera. Visualising can make a huge difference, helping you feel more comfortable and creative on the day.
5. Pack Your Essentials
Gear Up. Bring any equipment or items you’ll need during the shoot. For musicians, this could include instruments, props, or gear that are part of your stage presence.
Bring Your Energy. Above all, bring a positive attitude and an open mind. Our aim is to create an enjoyable, collaborative environment where we can bring your vision to life.
Let’s make your shoot day a success, and most importantly, a reflection of you and your craft. See you on set!
